View Full Version : Will it fit in a 172?
"I've been browsing the group awhile, but I have a question now. If I
took the tires off of a 10-speed bicycle would it fit into the beck
seat of a 172?

Maybe. You should remove the front and rear tires and turn
the bars to parallel the frame. It should be possible to
put it in using the main doors. The baggage door may be too
small.
Secure it with a seat belt.

And put a towel or cloth over the seat to keep the chain oil off it.

I have a longstanding agreement with tequila:
I won't drink it, and it won't make me sick.

It will not fit through the baggage door.
You will have to put it in through the main doors. If you want it in the
baggage compartent, fold the back seat forward if possible. You may have
to remove the seat. Otherwise, plan on the frame residing on the back
seat.

He won't need the towel, it's probably a rental plane on lease back!!!!.

I'd fit broken down 10 speeds in a 152. Assembling them under the wing
is pleasant.

You must not be here in Texas where it is still over 100 degrees in the
shade!
