You can certainly find a Champ' that will qualify for LSA, and you can
certainly find them with electrical systems, but I don't think you can find
one that satisfies both requirements.

You most certainly without a doubt can.

The 7EC was the first Champ' with an electrical system, it's gross weight
was 1450. I believe that's a bit more than the LSA maximum.

A number of 7ACs have had electrical systems added. Saw two of them last
weekend.

Describe their "electrical systems". If they're true 7ACs they're powered
by a Continental A65 which has no provision for driving a generator. An
electrical system without an engine-driven generator isn't much of an
electrical system.

85 horse Continentals fit just fine in place of the 65 and with the addition
of the larger dorsal fin the FAA is quite happy. Of course you know the 85
handles an electrical system just fine and using the new light weight
starters and alternators the weight gain is reasonable. OBTW electrical
systems without generators are quite effective and practical. I guess you
are not aware American Champion has brought back the Champ with brand
spankin new O-200s, full electrical system, panel mount GPS and a bunch of
other rather sophisticated upgrades and it is LSA legal. Gotta get away
from those 172s every once in a while Steve ole boy and get out into the
real world. You will be surprised at what's out there.

There's also a bunch of 65hp champs out there with wind driven
generators.
