Hi group, Can any one tell me or direct me to info on placement of vortex
generators? I would like to experiment on my zenith. What are they placed
in relation to, i.e.; centre of pressure, flow separation or?
Thanks,................Stew

It is different for every airplane, and unless you know what you're
doing, they are unlikely to work at all.

The VG is a method of re-energizing the boundary layer just before it
seperates and turns turbulent as it works against the adverse pressure
gradient. The first step will be to determine where the seperation
occurs. Yarn tufts or oil slicks will help here. The second is to
model the pressure gradient. Look for JavaFoil and other such programs
on the net for help in this.

This is by far the hardest lesson about freedom. It goes against
instinct, and morality, to just sit back and watch people make
mistakes. We want to help them, which means control them and their
decisions, but in doing so we actually hurt them (and ourselves)."

Stew,

Try www.landshorter.com There are lots of info about testing etc. They
also sell premolded VG's...
