In 4 years, maybe. It isn't certified and even though Piper
will be a USA sales agent, there is a lot of competition
with planes nearly ready to deliver now.

Timing can be everything.

Persistence means a lot. Look at the Japanese auto makers. Who'd have
thought back in the 60s that Toyota or Datsun would amount to anything
given the stronghold that the "big 3" had on the market.

I have reasons for not being a Honda fan, but I suspect they'll do well
in this market over time. And they have the corporate resources to
outlast a lot of the upstarts.

Beech started flying a prototype model 76 with a
conventional tail back in the mid 70's. They didn't bring
it to market until Piper had sold over 1,000 Tomahawks and
that was the market at the time. Beech had a better
airplane and had plenty of time to develop it, but Piper
beat them to the sales.
