View Full Version : Chart Subscriptions: do they arrive on time?

July 27th 06, 02:20 PM
Hello,

I'm thinking about subscribing to all the charts I regularly use -
Sectional, TAC, IFR enroute,
approach plates - for my area. It's possible to get an OK deal on a
subscription - at least,
with the cost no greater than buying the things at the local pilot
shop. The idea isn't to save
money anyway - it's to avoid the ole' "want to blast off monday morning
at 7:00 and the
pilot shop isn't open til 9:00" dilemma. As well as a desire for
simplification: life is complicated,
and I'm trying to put as much of it as possible on autopilot.

Chart subscriptions, for the most part, seem to include USPS first
class shipping. Or you
can pay extra for overnight etc.

So here's the question: anybody here get such subscriptions? Do
they arrive on time? Without buying some sort of horrendously
expensive special shipping? I would not be happy
if I bought a subscription and found those charts arriving a few days
AFTER the effectivity
date.

I get mine from flyairways.com, and they are cheaper than buying them from
the local FBO and they always come early.

I'm very happy with them.
