I've just become aware that Lowrance has orphaned the Airmap 100 in
that updates to the Jeppesen/Obstructions database are no longer
available. My most recent database is from June 2002. Does anyone
have a more recent database that you would be willing to sell, copy
(may not work), or loan me to get my GPS more up-to-date?

If so, please post here & I'll send my contact info.

Thanks,

Did you write off the offer Lowrance has for purchasing a current model
at a discount? I believe some show prices can get you a 500 for $225
after the trade in. You would get the current database, plus the
current road maps too. I don't have my 100 anymore since I traded up to
the 2000C, and the only data disk I have is dated back in 1999. See
http://www.airplanegear.com/lowrance-rebate.htm
for info on the program.

Paul, thanks for the info; I wasn't aware of this rebate program. The
price for the 500 has dropped more...mine will cost $169 after the
rebate.

Thanks Again,
Dwight

That's what we're here for, trading knowledge.

Wow $169! And that includes the mounting bracket too. It makes the
value equation vs. Garmin a bit lop-sided. I paid $400 after the rebate
last year for the 2000C, but then paid another $100 for the terrain
update. Oh well. It's not as bad as when I go back and look through
some computer receipts I kept from the 1980's My favorite was the 25
Mhz 68030 processor for $1,000.
