I almost bought a PIK recently, and the current leader of the earlier
group was looking for someone to take over the group. His email was
. He may be able to assist in transferring over
all the archives of the old group. It would be a shame to lose them.

Why not just use the old newsgroup? Then there is no "transferring
archives", etc. This doesn't make sense to me.

Larry,

You can't use the old group because it no longer exists.
(See: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pik20sailplanes/)

I would be surprised if Yahoo maintained the archive after deleting the
group.

I see! Did someone just let it lapse? Or deliberately close it down?
I am a member of a couple of groups who get almost no postings and they
have not been deleted.

Just wondering,

Larry

The key word is "almost." The moderator gets a warning every 90 days or
so that the group will be deleted unless someone posts. The moderator
can keep the group alive by posting something.

Hi
I had some of the links and files saved, so I posted them in the new
group.
