I know there's a way to do this, but how do I "strip" the video out of
web page like this?:

http://www.harmonmediagroup.com/bader/crash.html

People keep sending me links like this, asking that I add the video to
our aviation video webpage, but I don't know how to get at the raw
movie file. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

That's a Flash Video file, and they're a little tougher to crack. I use
the VideoDownloader extension for Firefox, which adds a button to the
bottom of the window that'll let you save the .flv file:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/

You'll then need to use something to convert the video to something more
common, such as MPEG. I then use this to convert it to MPEG-4:

Go to
http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php
and just type the name of the URL into the box at the top. It will
search for the first video it finds and download it. However, many
videos will end up in .fv format and you'll need something to convert
it. I downloaded something free that seems to work great (actually it
was the 3rd I tried). I sometimes download TV shows from youtube.com
and burn them to DVD to watch in the family sometimes. If you want me
to find the name of the program I'm using to convert the .fv let me
know and I'll think to check when I'm home.
