best credit card airline
Hello

I'm looking for a credit card that rewards airline miles and I was
wounding if you would give me your recommendation.

I don't mind paying an annual fee
I pay my cards off every month so the APR is not an issue
I want the most miles I can get.
I want no black outs and I want to use any airline

Let me know what you would recommend.

Thanks
Dan

quicken credit card gives you points that convert to money to be used on any
airline. And since it is effectively cash, there are no blackout dates.

I've been happy with my Capital One card. No specific airline. They say no
black outs but I don't tend to travel on days they would black out.

Have you ever redeemed miles on it? I have an offer sitting on my
desk, double miles and no fee.

In my experience, the best airline card has been United. I've had
three free tickets to Aspen! I've also flown to DC on a biz trip, very
convenient, down one day and back two days later, no Saturday stay
etc.

I have the miles on American but they never seem to fly where I'm
going.

Delta is useless. I have piles of miles, but I can never get a
SkySaver fare (25K miles). If there's an outbound SkySaver seat, then
there's not one returning. So it's always SkyChoice (50K miles). I
think I will use it to send my wife to Florida to visit a school pal.

For the record, it wasn't me.. Must be a different "Dan". I avoid
associating my last name with usenet posts.

I have redeemed miles and it wasn't a problem. I don't like the specific
airline miles because the airlines I have to fly change based on which
direction I'm heading.

I get 3 or 4 of the CapitalOne mailings a week. I check their website
for the small print. What I found is there are no black out days, etc,
because you buy the ticket at the prevailing rate, then CapitalOne
credits so many points per mile. I figured an $200 ticket was about 8000
points if I remember. A "normal" ticket could be more points that the
airline issued ticket. I think if Capitol One cut back on all the TV
advertising and mass mailings, they could offer better deal. Just my
two cents worth.
