Hello,
I will built a distributorless ignition.
GM coil lmay do the job.
http://www.msdignition.com/pdf/8224_frm22622.pdf
My question: is the interface block (p/n 8870) is a passive or active
one?

May I use a faston male terminal for direct connection?
Thanks

I have one of these coils that I use as a spare when my LSE ignition
coils break. I run it by using the male fast on connectors inserted
directly into the base of the coil, no need for the interface block.

I don't know what kind of salvage yards you have in France, but the coil
packs on the Fords,GM's & Chrysler are plenty adequate for AC use--they
set the plugs at .050 to .060 inches. Get a set of 2 off of a 4 Cyl.
engine--the base is just a mounting point. I built my mag replacement
to be gear driven, uses 2 Ford Magnetic pick-up coils, 2 Chevy Ignition
modules , and a Ford Double coil.
Used electronic units have passed the "Infant Mortality" phase and
should give a long useful life. Jerry--could send pics.

Nothing with this kind of stuff.

I just comme back from the airfield after the 1st run with 2
electronics ignition on my A65...
I fly since 3 years with one magneto and one CDI distributorless
ignition.
You may see (in french) that here:
http://foxpapa.com/article.php3?id_article=542
I just add two new sensors in the empty magneto, two ignition
modules, two new coils (same from Mitsubishi ref MD334558) and it runs.
I can start a full 30° advance without any retard system.
The wish list for the winter: bolt targets on the flyweel, move the
sensors and take apart the empty magneto.
I just see the GM coil for price and availability (my coils are order
from Australia...), I will try to wire a piggy back second thyristor
module in a $120 MAA-6852M Mallory CDI box and drive two $30 SUM-850017
GM coils.
The challenge: a CDI distributorless ignition for less than $300 with
shipping and import taxes...
My A65 become highly modified:
a flywhell with starter and kubota alternator (french stuff)
http://mdlaurent.free.fr/
one CDI #1 igniton
http://foxpapa.com/article.php3?id_article=542
one dual amplifier module (TCI) #2 ignition
the module: http://www.transpo.de/cgi-win/product.exe?BM320
an electric wiring similar than the Potez engine one.
