With apologies to Steven for the delay, here is the final update of his
epic trans-Atlantic journey. What a trip!

Steven, how many total hours did it take?

i've actually been wondering about him a bit.glad he made it safe and
sound. i'm in the middle of reading "the flying north" and it's great
adventure but it seems like everybody who does all these great trips
against all odds succeeds every single time. till the last one. i want
more stories from steven. he never did tell about the "greatest scare
ever" but i guess that was the tank issue. he needs to loosen-up that
keyboard after calling everybody he knows and getting over the
hangover (well, i certainly would!)
dan jay, thanks for being the pipeline. good job.

Yeah, Steven is a man of few words lately -- right when we want him to
yack for hours!
C'mon, man, tell us what scared you in the middle of the Atlantic!
Don't leave us hanging!

Thanks to NW_Pilot and Jay for a fascinating
report (so far?:-).
I happen to know the Glasgow area quite well and
wondered if he had used Glasgow Airport (GLA)
(pretty busy with scheduled flights) or the quieter
and probably cheaper Glasgow Pestwick (PIK/EGPK)
which is only 30 or so miles away.
I looked up Google Earth to see if I could match the
photo against the ground and it turns out that
it was Glasgow Airport.
In case anyone is interested here are the google earth
co-ordinates of one of the photos on Jay's site.

If you have google earth you can save the following
as *.kml file and load it into Google Earth.
I hope that there is not to much trouble with
wrapped lines or anything.

The sports stadium in the foreground is the
ground of the (relatively) famous Scottish
Football (soccer) team St Mirren at Love
Street in Paisley. Luckily this enabled me
to identify the location quite quickly.

Steven has sent me a complete revision, with much new information and
some new pix.
When I get a minute (hopefully later this morning) I'll make the
changes and upload it to Jav's server. Suffice it to say, his trip was
NOT quite uneventful.
