Known bug in the OLC

The reason is an error in the OLC optimization, which we are going to
eliminate as fast as possible. All concerned flights will get a correct
score even after the tuesday deadline will have passed before we can
solve the problem. Thanks for your patience.

At the very moment software claim method with commercial software like
SeeYou, StrePla or WinPilot is not working correctly, due to OLC system
change. The OLC team urgently recommends to generate an OLC file with
these programs and then claim with this OLC file ('Prepared Claim'), or
use the 'Direct Claim' without external software. Manufacturers are
informed about these troubles and will (if it's necessary) publish
patches as soon as possible.

The OLC team has been working on correcting problems with the new OLC
Generation 2.0 system. Top priority is getting claims uploaded, scored
and displayed in the daily scores. So if you have problems with this
(other than the known zero score issue), please report it to
help<at>onlinecontest<dot>org. Problems with summary statistics, and
other functions are second priority, and will be addressed later.

The login function is not needed yet. You can create a user ID in the
Contest Registration update under the Anmeldung tab, but logging in
won't do anything yet. Editing flight claims is disabled for both users
and regional administrators until the platform is stable. Only the
OLC-i admin can make changes for now.

There have been problems reported using different browsers. The
calendar function in daily score does not appear to work properly with
AOL browser for example. It is probably best to use Microsoft Internet
Explorer v6.0 for best results. Alternate browser support is also low
priority right now.

I made a successful claim using a pre-prepared *.OLC file from SeeYou
and the Firefox browser, but it only appeared on one page initially
(not the daily summary).

I can confirm that login doesn't work and it's also useful to know a
bit of German if you want to navigate the site.

The main bug in the OLC scoring has been fixed, and most flights are
scored now. There is a delay in scoring after claiming, so all flights
initially show zero score. The optimization and validation are queued
up and processed offline, otherwise there would be a long delay in the
claim process.

Clearing this bug, revealed another less common problem, so there are
still a small number of flights that did not score. The OLC team is
working on this as well. All valid claims will get scored, so don't
worry if you see a zero initially.

Note that until the platform is stable, only the OLC-i admin can remove
or change flights.

The OLC Team has also posted a notice on the new login function:

New feature in OLC 2007 - LOGIN

'MyOLC': In future we will offer a lot of functions under this
headline. So, for instance, every user will be able to allow other
defined persons to claim or correct his flights. This might be
important for pilots who are used to have one or two persons in the
club, doing the OLC claims and necessary corrections for all other
pilots of the club. These "assistants" will then be able to claim
Your flight while they are logged in with their own password.

Right now, the LOGIN function has just one advantage, while claiming a
flight manually, the name and date of birth is automatically inserted
in the claiming formula.

Attention: If you just wish to claim a flight or look into other
flights, You don't need to be logged in.
As soon as any new functions are available for MyOLC, we will announce
that well in time.
