Hello,

I could not find any article in english but here are some pictures of a
Piper Archer that landed on a french highway yesterday and took off on
the same highway the next day.
The road looked pretty narrow for that plane and not straight too !
All the articles I read state that the issue was with fuel ( that's
pretty vague ).

They just let him take off and be on his way? Didn't he violate any
regulations or something?

Having viewed the second set of photos, it appears he ran out of gas and
dinged the right wing leading edge, inboard of the wingtip.

In some states (MA? NJ?) it is an issue. The police won't let you
take off, they make you truck it out. (or you can sneak out when
nobody's looking)

It all depends on the local sheriff.. and the local area... taking off from
a busy downtown (all of east coast is busy down town) freeway.. not gonna
happen.. light poles.. overhead wires...

out west... why not..
