Sixteen years ago, while I was testing VC-10s at Brize Norton, Sqn Ldr
Jerry Odell took me for my first glider ride at Bicester. I've lost
touch with Jerry, and now that I'm actually piloting gliders I'd like
to thank him again for introducing me to this wonderful sport.
Does anyone on RAS have contact information for J.H. Odell?

John, I'm sorry to have to tell you but Jerry was killed in a gliding
accident whilst flying his Vega in cloud a number of years ago.

Phil, I'm distressed to learn about Jerry. A real shame, he was such a
great fellow!
I'll contact you off line, and perhaps you can tell me more about Jerry
as a glider pilot. We worked together professionally, and he didn't say
much about his soaring experiences. However, while waiting for him to
come back from a solo flight someone told me that he had some
interesting accomplishments.
