Mike,
This point of view would be dependent on which hemisphere you fly in.

Given the larger number of soaring pilots in the Northern hemisphere,
the quantity of appreciation is likely greater; however, we can't rule
out the possibility that the quality of the appreciation is greater in
the south.
Not only are the days getting longer here, but the day is lasting longer
even faster! The sun is still taking longer to awaken in the morning,
however.

Right. Most people don't believe me when I tell them that the earliest
sunset of the year does not coincide with the shortest day of the year.
