...test features and make suggestions on the latest release of
Glideplan. It's great to have so much support from the folks using the
software! At the risk of spamming, if you have considered picking up a
copy, the introductory pricing ends tonight at midnight.

Also, GlidePlan 1.2, scheduled for release in February, is a free
upgrade, and will include the ability to import and edit standard
turnpoint files from SeeYou and the WW Turnpoint exchange. For more
info visit: http://www.glideplan.com , or come visit our booth at the
SSA convention in February. For those that may not know the program,
some details follow.

Thanks,

Matt Herron (Jr)

GlidePlan is a new flight planning and sectional markup tool for glider
pilots, introduced in the Spring of '06

Glideplan allows the glider pilot to quickly plan and explore potential
cross country flights from a desktop/laptop PC or Mac. It includes
current high resolution digital Sectionals for the entire U.S., with
FREE monthly updates.

GlidePlan produces interactive concentric curves of glide elevations
around user selected landouts so pilots can easily explore the impact
of arrival altitude and glider performance on goals or tasks. It can
even display the effects of wind on glideslope rings. It also features
interactive evaluation of tasks for FAI distance badges, with helpful
diagnostics to make sure your flight qualifies BEFORE you release from
tow.

GlidePlan makes it simple to create graphic overlays similar to
traditional map marking techniques, and updating maps to new sectional
releases takes seconds, not hours. It can output printed maps at
sectional scale, with automatic map legends, eliminating the need to
mark up sectionals by hand. And now custom stitched sectionals can be
ordered FREE, allowing exploration across standard sectional
boundaries, and over a much larger areas.

Are you an active CFIG? We think GlidePlan is a great tool for
instructors teaching cross country techniques, and want to encourage
it's use in ground school. Through our CFIG program, your students
may qualify for a discount, and you will earn an incentive as well.
visit http://cfig.glideplan.com for more details and to sign up.
It's FREE.

Sounds nice, except the "impact" part.
We try for gentle arrivals in Soaring ;-)
See you in Memphis,
