As most of you who follow the machinations of this little on line group
know, the US will be sending a team of at least two, perhaps three
pilots to the Junior WGC in Rieti this summer.
At this point we have the pilots, but nothing for them to fly. It is
our fond hope that within the next few months we will be able to
borrow, barter, trade, (we fly yours, you fly ours), or rent in order
to provide the kids with proper mounts in which they might compete.
In a perfect world, some of our peerless friends will step forth with
offers of the latest in standard class equipment which can be used by
our pilots; Kathy Fosha, Mike Westbrook and perhaps the current US 18m
champ, Chris Saunders. In a perfect world.
So, if you have any ideas regarding a source of sailplanes for our
young pilots, please drop me a line!
See you in Rieti.
