Yeah. Not sure $35/hr plus $2k/yr is a particularly good deal with 10 other
people for a LSA.

I would think you and a partner could buy yourself an Ercoupe, tie it down
on the ramp, spend $4k/yr in fixed costs and another $35/hr in operating
costs and make ends meet.

Who needs 8 more partners?

Read carefully - the partnership is for up to 4 people (you probably
can't get LSA insurance for more that 4), with a NEW light-sport
aircraft (not an 50 year old Ercoupe). The 10 person group is
intended to establish a light-sport RENTAL aircraft at a flight school
(at no cost to the 10 people). The idea is to build the "critical
mass" required to get reluctant flight schools onboard with the sport
pilot/light-sport aircraft movement.
