I saw it on the news - virtually rebuilt to flying status by volunteers.
Apparently, it's going to Longreach (Queensland - birthplace of Qantas) for
the museum. I don't remember hearing JT-8's, so I'd have loved it to make a
flying visit to Melbourne, but alas...

Apparently, it's going to Longreach (Queensland - birthplace of Qantas) for
the museum. I don't remember hearing JT-8's, so I'd have loved it to make a

B-707s (138Bs) were equiped with JT-3D engines, B-727s had JT-8s.

They didn't rebuild the entire plane - just got it airworthy for the trip
back to Australia.

They didn't rebuild the entire plane - just got it airworthy for the trip

Remember, they only got this beautiful plane in flying condition for the
