credible overall. The video, after extensive analysis, was proven to be
digitally fabricated, using sophisticated video-game techniques and
algorithms. In fact, it was ufologist video-game aficionados who first
suggested that as the solution.

I remember reading about nearly identical
UFO sightings by Himilayans and Andean villagers,
describing the same craft at the same time that
also defied explanation back in the early 1970's,
IIRC.

I hadn't heard that. Makes you wonder about the
motives of such laborious fabricators. Throwing a
hubcap in the air and taking a picture is one thing,
but.........

The Himalayan sounds familiar, but the Andean one was good, photos of
multiple objects with excellent clarity. And then the entire valley and
all the witnesses perished in a large earthquake.

Delivered anonymously to a TV station a few days after the supposed
incident, which then received lots of "eyewitness" reports only
after they ran the tape.

The position of the footage was effectively determined to be from a
high rise building housing a video editing business. Analysis of the
tape showed distinct interlacing from the UFO, indicating it was
dubbed onto the skyline footage.

Not to mention the goofy precession of the object that makes it
look like a spinning model dangling from a string...
