Dear List,
Anyone here seen any high time homebuilts.I do some part time work at
a RANS dealer, and I was wondering how long one of these would last.I
have heard some stories, but I have not personally been able to
verify.Anyone on this list have a high time RANS?

I'm not so sure high time would have any correlation to an assessment that
something has lasted long, unless you're also looking at the logs to
determine if it has been rebuilt, etc.

Planes are like the story of George Washington's axe. It's all
original except that the head has been replaced 10 times, and the
handle 3 :-)

Also depends on what you call high time. One of our club's two RANS S6
is coming up to 1000 hours in a month or so, it's about 3 years old.
No (touch wood) major work undertaken so far apart from the engine
overhauls of course.
