Yes, but only 30% of the "registered" voters voted this time.
I guess with all the scandals that have plagued his past
administrations, he didn't want to push his luck.

I understand that the vote count went as follows:
Daley: 2,450,000
Opp #1: 1,350,000
Opp#2: 450,000
Opp#3: 125,000
Total Votes Cast; 2,150,000

WE had an election in Wichita Tuesday also, a 10% turn out,
over 3 million in Chicago is what, 75%?
Did not know that there were that many civic minded
citizens.

He's not all that popular here, though he's done a better job (massive
exception for Meigs) than several predecessors.
The main problem is to find a credible opponent who would be willing
to run against him. Most opponents just play the race card and have
no other obvious credentials for the job.

You have to read those numbers closely.
It looks like a very old joke about Chicago.

Good point. Who, in their right mind, would WANT to be Mayor of
Chicago?

Although Cedar Rapids is a fine city, populated by wonderful people, I
would hesitate to call anything there "world famous". We go there
often, and it's pretty much like Milwaukee, only smaller, without the
breweries.
Where is the pizza you would recommend?

The recipes of Domino's and Hutta de Pizza have been passed down thru
generations of fine chefs. :) JG
