The open house at Davis-Monthan is coming up. I checked the list of
prohibited items online and it does not mention camera bags, although it
does list backpacks, duffel bags, and large purses.

Has anyone recently attended an open house with a camera bag? Were you
allowed in?

See if you can get in with a dozen bottles of water strapped around your
chest....

My experience with a mid-sized camera bag at Fairchild AFB last summer (and
other bases in recent years) is that they will do a hand inspection of the
camera bag and let you through.

Many times they will not allow bottled drinks, a necessary security measure
to protect the highly sensitive clowns selling dixie cups of warm pop for $3
a hit once you are on base.

But as mentioned, check the web site or base PIO for their specific no-nos.
