I used to fly a C-182A. Its almost like a C-172XP. The body was much
more narrow than a more recent 182, if it was any wider than a 172, it
was slight. It was a bit faster than later 182s as a result of being
more narrow though. At the time my

Four inches narrower. The wide bodies started in 1962. Previous to
that the 182 was the same fuselage as the 180.

Its amazing how much difference that 4 inches makes in a GA plane!!
