View Full Version : 1st day 2007 Seniors USA

March 12th 07, 12:48 AM
First race day, and yep, we sat on the grid while the snifers went
round and round. You know the drill, pre practice ka boomers,, sky
filled with hard bottoms, then comes first race day. It even felt cool
at noon, and the sun gods were a hour late, earlier, heck, they even
didn't know, as we woke to fog. Heavy fog. You don't know what heavy
fog is? Well, next time it happens to you, weight some, then you will
know what I mean, and I won't ruin your surprize by telling you.
3 tasks were called and we went with the shortest one. A AST of 135
miles plus some change.
The day finally started working, We went North to 22, then 34, then
18. 34 is woods and lake, ya, woods and lakes are all there be. But
bases rose to 6,000, with good lift of 4-6 kts. Top of the score sheet
is crowded, all got around, and tonite Ingrid and Knut put on a food
fest for us. Thanks Ingrid and Knut.

DB wins the day, but the top 5 are within 13 points of first. The
shoot out has begun, as DB places first 2 days in a row. Tomorrow
lookin good, so most headed home early, to get some rest. Me thinks
tomorrow will be kicked up a notch, even better.

John Good is posting on the SSA website. So tune n their, for complete
scores and more of the story.
