View Full Version : OLC site 2007

March 13th 07, 11:43 PM
I THINK I successfully uploaded a flight. I got an e-mail back, and
it contains a link that takes me to the information for the flight.
Last fall I went to the OLC site, and I was able to figure out how to
find flights posted by individual pilots. This was on the
http://www2.onlinecontest.org/ site. Am I missing something with the
current //www3.******* site? I can't seem to find a place to begin
looking for an indivual pilot's flights.
Also, on the contest registration form there is a field called "BHC".
What is that?
Is there a "primer" out there to guide noobs (like me) through the
process of getting set up?

Thanks,
Jim

Assuming you are in the USA, this link will get you to the main page:
http://www3.onlinecontest.org/olc-2.0/gliding/getScoring.html?scoringId=1&country=US&subcountry=

The calendar is based on UTC, so you may need to click the little left
arrow next to the date to see yesterday's flights.

You will then need to navigate to the day that someone you are
interested in did the flight. Then you can click on the name and get
a list of all flights by that pilot.

I haven't tried too hard, but don't think there is a way to search by
pilot name.

You can go to the OLC Champion listing or the Statistics: All Flights
listing, and search for a pilot name there. Then click on the name, and
you get a listing of all flights by that pilot.

I just spent another half hour trying to find a flight from a
particular pilot. Unless I'm missing something, there's no good way
to do it. Last year is was simple. The NEW site seems to be a GIANT
leap backward in useability.
Too bad.

the club and other statistics appear to be all 2006 data

I cannot find 16UF flight in March either.

Go here:

http://www3.onlinecontest.org/olc-2.0/gliding/getScoring.html?scoringId=2

click on the country you want, click "All" to get a complete listing of
all pilots in that country, search for the pilot name, then click on
that name.

That may well be due to errors on my part in registering. There's not
much in the way of explanations for the fields (I still don't know
what "BHC" is, but I made a selection anyhow!) I THINK I've got that
squared away, we'll see next flight I claim. I don't think any other
club members have claimed flghts yet this year, so the data set is
exceedlingly limited.
Still underwhelmed by the new format.

I've uploaded two flights this season, both after all the "fixes" have
been made to OLC.
I must say that I like the new OLC very much.
I'm happy that the earlier bugs seem to be a thing of the past.
We all complained (myself included) but now I offer my thanks to all
who made it even better.
I can't wait for the season the get cranking!
Thanks OLC, bravo!
