Everytime I see an image of this plane, I can,t help thinking about the
Bob Stevens cartoon. "There I was" about when he was flying a P-38 and
had this funny looking thing pull up along side him and then zoom off
leaving him like he was standing still.

Am I remembering correctly ?

I wonder what the bail-out procedure was with this aircraft. Those props
could really ruin a man's day.

The Dornier 335 had a similar problem and the rear propeller had an
explosive bolt that sheared the propeller shaft. It also had explosive
bolts that separated the dorsal fin, which wouldnąt have been necessary
with this plane.

Whats great is that this type is still flying. Here are a couple of
shots from Chino in 2004. Hopefully I'll get a chance to go back this
year.
