Your point is made. Nice looking, good size image, too. The point of
using yEnc encoded text messages is to avoid the wasted "overhead" which
runs 33% to 40% of your original file. You claimed your image was 64kB. The
attachment I received was nearly 68 kB. Okay, that's a minor difference. But
it took a 92 kB message to deliver that 64 kB image. The difference is the
overhead.
For small size files like the images in this NG, yEnc is a waste of
time. Etiquette says use what most of the group wants to use. Sounds like no
yEnc in here. So be it.
yEnc is handy when posting and downloading music CDs and movie DVDs.
Saves people a lot of time.
