Museum Open House June 9th, 2007
The US Southwest Soaring Museum in Moriarty, NM, will hold an Open
House on June 9, 2007,
to celebrate its first anniversary of operation. The Vintage Sailplane
Association (VSA)
and Experimental Sailplane Association (ESA) will be meeting at
Moriarty June 7-10 and
there will be a model sailplane event on June 9.
Museum admission is free June 7 - 10, although donations are always
welcome! A buffet
dinner will be served in the Museum on Saturday and an after dinner
talk by Dennis
Piszkiewicz will feature Hanna Reitsch, famed German glider pilot and
test pilot of
gliders, helicopters, piston, jet, and rocket airplanes.
A GALA Event is scheduled in the museum for Saturday, June 9th,
starting at 5:30 PM. The
Dukes of Albuquerque, a 15 member swing band will offer music for
dancing. The El Comedor
de Anayas will serve a Mexican Buffet dinner. An after dinner talk by
Dennis Piszkiewicz
will feature Hanna Reitsch, famed German glider pilot and test pilot
of gliders,
helicopters, piston, jet, and rocket airplanes to following by a panel
discussion.
