I have an older volkslogger that has been working great, but now I have
developed a security problem. When it boots up, it says security seal OK,
but when you check a file with the Vali verification program then it says
the file has either been tampered with or missing or corrupted G records.

I have been using winpilot to download files for several years with no
problems.

I rescently tried the connect me program from see you. Anyone have any
problems with this program?

During one download, and I am not sure which program I was using it seemed
like the program stalled. I cut off the power so the volkslogger would
start again.

Anyone have any ideas?

Could it have gotten corrupted when I cut the power off during a download?
OR do I have something going wrong with the volkslogger internally?

I have sent an email to volkslogger, and have not gotten any ideas from them
yet.

If you would like to look at one of the files and can give me any help I
have one posted on OLC from May 5th 75QA0WL2

Thanks for any help

I also have an older VL - 8 yrs old, with the round connector. There
is an internal battery inside, which keeps the memory non-volatile
(you don't lose it when powering down). There is a recommendation in
the manual that you replace the battery every ten years. I had mine
done when I also had a component die, which didn't allow me to up/
download from/to the VL from my computer (back to the factory).
North American dealers can "flash" the software for you without
affecting the security seal, which is significantly cheaper (if it
works - components can only be replaced at the factory in my case; I
used Richard at CraggyAero, and I was very satisfied with the
service).
You might also try downloading the VL windows manager - the Windows
program from their website, at http://volkslogger.de/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=30&Itemid=66
(software WIN on the right side). It's pretty simple, and free.
For Garrecht, please consider a USB connection or SD card for up/
download, allow the user to input a variation to give magnetic
headings, and, most importantly, make the 8-hour memory left beeper
user modifiable down to 1 hour! Love the logger, hate the 8-hour
beeps.
