Thank you both for offering advice regarding Yenc and my older Mac.

I have tried that software before and have never been able to get it to
work on my system.

I appreciate that those that like Yenc like it a lot and that
those who don't like Yenc hate it with a passion.

As for me my attitude is simple.

If people wish to post pictures in various formats that not all people
can view including myself then my attitude is that I can't miss what
I can't see.

Many sad the Edsel was progress, too.

Beta vs VHS Beta was better but VHS won out
as to whether or no yenc is better it is here to stay so why not use a
reader that can decode it if needed
I odn't hate or support it but at least I can read it

Well, the Edsel made it to two (three?) model years. How long has yENC been
around now? How many companies have thought that yENC is worth investing
time into developing yENC software? You can even make OE read yENC on the
fly if you really want to.
