View Full Version : P-47 Gets "Kill" at Arlington

Had a buddy whose campsite is right on the show line at Arlington, and right
next to the runup pad for runway 16.

The Flying Heritage P-47 was getting ready to fly, and its tail was pointed at
the fence as it was running-up. It blew a Yorkshire Terrier halfway across the
road. :-)

Dog is OK and is waiting for a rematch. :-)

Did he get a reprimand for being below a minimum altitude before engaging in
dogfighting?

I was in Houston with the Wright machine for the 2003 show. When the
C-5b came in, he was supposed to taxi to the end of the new ramp, turn
135 degrees and point the nose of his ship at mine. Well, there were
two guys unloading boxes of t-shirts from a U-haul on the far side of
the ramp, and as the C-5 began to turn...

Sorry, sent that to the wrong list.

I enjoyed it, just the same! <g>

Some time ago someone posted a picture of a C-130 landing on a carrier. I
piped up, and said, that had to be a fake, because it had never happened.

Turns out, I was wrong.
