Berk, the pilot who crashed in Idaho earlier this summer, is quoted briefly
in the August issue of Air and Space Magazine.

The rest of the folks quotes manage a mailing list I'm on and they're
already improving things over last year. Definately an amazing and diverse
group of pilots!

Thanks for the link. I had read some about BM before, and this was a nice
addition. Well written.

Not exaggerated, either. At one point the FAA told them it was a lot better
run than most of the comparable airports in Nevada... of course, they only
had to manage it for a week, which they acknowledge.
BM itself is truly beyond belief, and not anything like the
Rainbow-Gathering hippie heaven a lot of people take it for. Last time I
went was in 2005. We built a three-sided viewing tower and gave away about
a dozen kegs of homemade root beer.
