Was the narrorator correct that only two of these B-24s are still flying?

Yes he is correct. The CAF airplane you have pictured and the B-24J
operated by the Collings Foundation.

Damn, only two still flying? That would probably have brought my mom and
dad both to tears if they were still with us. They both flew them in WWII -
her as a delivery pilot and him in combat. That was how they met too - she
delivered his plane, they met, and the rest, as they say, is history...

Kermit Weeks has or at least had one out at the Fantasy of Flight Museum
near Lakeland. Everything in his collection is in flyable condition.

Kermit's has been sitting for quite awhile and needs some "rehab" before she
can take to the air again. So while she was and most likely will fly again
she currently cannot.

Who currently owns and operates this airctaft? Still the CAF? It looks
much, much better in these colors (as an LB-30) than it did in that hopeless
faux "Diamond Lil" desert scheme the CAF had on it for years.

Is this 'Diamond Lil' with a repaint? Round nacelles indicate a B-24A or a
LB-30.

Nice story about your Mom and Dad. Sounds like their related WWII
experiences would make an interesting book. Ever thought of it?
Thanks.
