Airshow Air Crash - video

Sept 1, 2007 - Two Polish aerobatic pilots were killed when their
aircraft collided at high speed during a manouver at the Radom air
show in Poland.

A Reuters photographer at the scene said the collision occurred after
a three-plane formation fanned out and two of the aircraft slammed
into each other as they attempted to re-converge.

Polish Border Guard's PZL-104M Wilga 2000, Radom AirShow 2005The Radom
Air Show (referred to in Polish as "Air Show") is a biannual
celebration in the city of Radom, Poland, which began in 2000 (to
continue in 2001, 2002, 2003 and then 2005). Every other year during
the last weekend of August, military planes from the Air Forces of
Europe and Russia are gathered in Radom for the show, which entertains
visitors through elaborate stunts and performances from the planes.
According to the authorities behind the show, its aim is to entertain
the citizens of Radom and all of Poland, as well as to bring much
needed investors to the city.

Since its founding, the Radom Air Show has become the most popular and
attended air show in all of Poland.

One of the aircraft has just fallen to the ground after the collision.

Two pilots killed in mid-air collision at Radom Air Show, Poland On 1
September 2007, a mid-air collision claimed the life of two Polish
pilots from the AZL Zelazny aerobatics team, during their aerial
acrobatic display. The two pilots were Piotr Banachowicz and the
founder of the acrobatics group, Lech Marchlewski. The incident
happened as three Zlin Z-526s were performing a cross-over manoeuvre.
Two of the aircraft collided at right angles and disintegrated in
mid-air, killing the pilots instantly.

the plane crash that occured yesterday in Poland. 2 Zlin planes

Radom Air Show disaster

aeroplane acrobatics taking place at the Radom Air Show in Poland. The

Two pilots die in mid-air crash at Polish air show

Warsaw - Two pilots were killed in a mid-air crash at the Radom Air
Show in Poland on Saturday as thousands of spectators watched,
Poland's TVN24 news channel reported. Their two planes crashed head-on
during aerobatic manoeuvres involving four planes from the Zelazny air
team, the report said. It was not clear what had caused the crash.
Both pilots hailed from Zielona Gora, Western Poland.

Polish Radio said officials called the two-day air show, which began
Saturday morning, after the incident.

I believe the Italians managed to crash four planes at one time at an
air show in Germany some years ago.
Ramstein Airshow - Frecce Tricolori - In one of the world's worst
airshow disasters on August 28, 1988, three jets from the Italian Air
Force crashed.

Grupa Zelazny na kilka chwil przez katastrofa

Najpierw cisza, potem placz i modlitwa. To reakcje widzów
miedzynarodowych pokazów lotnicznych Air Show w Radomiu, którzy byli
swiadkami smierci dwóch pilotów. Dwie maszyny typu Zlin zespolu
"Zelazny" zderzyly sie podczas wykonywania jednej z akrobacji. Piloci
zgineli na miejscu.
