John passed away peacefully at home.
John was a native Alaskan and had been a power pilot for years before
becoming a soaring pilot.
He joined the Evergreen Soaring Club and the Seattle Glider Council in
1994, eventually serving both in leadership postions.
He became a Contest Scorer who was congenial, but firm.
In short, JD became the kind of member any club is always short of. He
sold his L-33 and then his 304CZ to others at more than fair rates and
donated his DG-1000 when his illness was making its presence known.
A memorial is being planned: Ephrata Airport September 22, 2007 11:00
AM.
