Don't know if any of your remember the story about the guy and his dog
who went missing on a flight from Idaho back to Seattle days before he
was to plead guilty to a crime, but they found the wreckage...

Wow, I'm really missing something here. He messed around with a 20
year old baby sitter? Maybe a bit disgusting of an activity for a 54
year old guy but where is the crime?

The article says he "fondled" her and he was charged with "indecent
liberties". That implies a lack of consent. *That* is a crime.

Renting airplanes is like renting sex: It's difficult to arrange on short
notice on Saturday, the fun things always cost more, and someone's always
looking at their watch.

His attentions might have been unwelcome.

But even if she filed some kind of sexual molestation charge against him,
isn't that still just a she said/he said deal? What kind of evidence made
him plead guilty?

Technically, he never did plead guilty since he died days before he
could...

In the Soviet of Washington, there is implied guilt. If you are male, you
are already guilty.

There's been several extortion rings taken down in the past where female
hitchhikers would accuse the driver of molestation and expect a payoff.

Wayyyyy back, Jack Webb's "Dragnet" even did an episode on it. One can only
imagine how much easier it is now.

Ironic, isn't it, that some women screwed things up for other women with
legitimate complaints. These same &$(#'s even destroyed chivalry.

We can joke about it, but it is a nasty reality: Any woman who points
the finger at you and complains means it is 99% likely that you will
be convicted on nothing more than her words...

In the case of the plane crash cited above, I suspect it was an actual
accident as most of us will not knowingly harm our dog...

Tragic. Well, that answers the question of whether he faked his own
death and was hiding out on the beach somewhere.

He was planning pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge of indecent
liberties. Heck, you could be charged with that accidentally bumping
up against someone in an elevator in the state of Washington. Of
course, that means you are forever after a level 1 sex offender and
you have to register with the police wherever you go and your
neighbors will all be informed that you are a sex offender (but not
the nature of the crime) wherever you live. And you will be forced to
resign from your senate seat if you are a Republican.

Had a recent case in Oklahoma where a man got either one or two life
sentences base solely on the testomony of a couple of girls in their early
teens. I don't know the exact details, but what ever he did, it was
supposedly done in a car while he was driving on an expressway, so it
couldn't have been a lot.

In Michigan they can do the same thing for taking a leak out behind
the bar if you get caught. Not too long ago they did the same to a
college coed who was out in one of the state forests and nature
called. Even behind a tree some one noticed and reported her. An
engaged young couple gets foolish, she gets pregnant, they get married
and then some one figures she was underage at the time. He's now on
the registry (that one made quite a stir in the news pointing out the
fallacy in our current law). In all of these cases they are listed on
equal terms with the true predators with absolutely no distinction
made. So much for the credibility of Michigan's "Zero tolerance
policy"

In the state of Washington get caught with another woman in your bed they
take your guns and hunting rights away indefinitely!!! No conviction needed!
All it takes is a female to call the PO(LICE) or aka tax collectors on a
male by the woman calling they have probable cause to search if they see a
firearm and or ammo they are immediately seized since it's a domestic call
regardless if any violence occurred or not, one of you is asked to leave
also! If they cannot decide they take one or both of you away.

Oh, you can restore your rights but costs thousands and thousands of dollars
in attorney's fees and court costs.

Damn, times have changed. I grew up in
Cle Elum up in the Cascades. Government
was the schools, the city rebuilding the
water system and the single cop giving
outsiders speeding tickets and that was
that. You were expected to take care of
yourself and your own. Juvenile "court"
was generally nothing more than the cop
saying a few words to your dad.

I moved to California after I got out of
the Army and have always kinda hoped
Washington would have stayed the same.

My brother lives out by Prosser. After
teasing me about living in California
for the last 35 years, he's finally come
to the conclusion that Washington has
caught up and even surpassed us in nanny-
state government.

Sad but often true, also in Oregon. I have a relative who got in an argument
with his wife, she screamed rape, they locked him up for some number of
weeks (cost him his job) in jail, and then they threw the case out when they
realized she had assaulted him and there had been no sexual contact at all.

In an even more disgusting case, I had an uncle who was charged and
convicted for molesting his infant granddaughter. A jury convicted him but
the judge refused to sentence him to anything further than the conviction on
his record--he was a corrections officer, so it destroyed him--because
according to his own daughter, he had NEVER BEEN ALONE WITH THE BABY. The
judge said he couldn't overturn the jury's verdict, but he wasn't going to
further punish an innocent man. (Basically, he'd been letting his step
daughter and her husband live in a house he owned, and they stopped making
payments so the son-in-law filed charges and tried to sue him for the
house.)
