Tom

Don't you ever get tired of these super PhotoOps the rest of us would kill
to get?

And then rubbing our noses in it by posting great photos?

Shame, shame! ;-)

Seriously, keep it up. I love 'em.

Thanks much,

Tom

I missed some practices last week due to a wedding in Rhode Island. Had to
go north to do family things and visit five, not four, not three, not two,
not one.....but five different Dunkin' Donuts!! Also visited the Submarine
Museum in Groton and the USS Nautilus. Lots of fun.
Got back Tuesday and made it to the Wednesday practice.
Now that Hurricane Humberto isn't a threat the Missus wants to go to New
Orleans for a few days. That means missing next week's practice on
Wednesday for sure. Maybe we won't leave until lunch on Tuesday which means
I can mosey over in the morning if my suitcase is packed.

Going to the practice is always a crap shoot. We could hear the Blues
starting their engines and then we could see them taxi out to the far end of
the field. Diamond went west and one solo came to the east end. Oh,
no......number five wasn't flying. In a minute we heard an engine spooling
up. A minute or two later number four came tooling along to be the Lead
Solo. That meant two number four aircraft in the air but it didn't matter.
We all wanted that Lead Solo for the sneak pass and to validate the
crossovers. They started as a low show but about twenty minutes into the
practice session I think they shifted to the high show. It was fun watching
them.

After the practice session I got to meet an former Blue Angel aviation
maintence guy named Harvey. He was a survivor of a mid-air collision
between Blue Angel aircraft. I don't know if it was in an airshow or
practice session. Someone said they let crew chiefs or plane captains ride
behind the pilots in the old days.

We are all looking forward to the November Homecoming Airshow. It's as much
fun watching the aircraft arrive and depart as the actual airshow. I'm glad
I got an eight gigabyte card to help me through the day, Tom
