the Legend of LAX[_2_]
September 13th 07, 10:54 PM
From the last week or so.

CPAcargo: Cathay Pacific in a sharp looking natural metal

1138, 1139: For Bob H (knowing his affinity for 727s), a private jet

1149: A French plane (I think)

1154: ATA changing their colors?

1171, max2: a new carrier to LAX

1149 looks to be a Transall of France's Armée de l'aire.

Yes the french markings are visible on the tail.

Now what's an old french military transport plane doing at LAX?

Oh, yes, I remember now, Arnold Schwarzenegger has asked for
political asylum in France.

Let's start a rumor. :-)

So that plane is just there to pick him up.

Or maybe it's there to carry Noriega to France after his extradition
from the US.

Also what's that that piece of red string atached to the propellers?
Is this a normal procedure?

The Red String prevents the prop from turning in the wind. You should
see the climb rate on the Transall WOW. Yes it is from France

Also what's this bulge with a round opening above the wheels?
It looks like an intake of some kind.
Some auxiliary device for take off?
