View Full Version : GPSMAP195 b-records with no altitude data

One of our club members is using a GPSMAP195 to log flights ... but it
does not record altitude info in the b-record. I looked at the
manual, but could not see anything specifically in setup that would
cause/fix this. Anybody had the same issue ... or know what to fix.

I have a 195 and it does not record altitude internally, but it does
send it in the NMEA stream to a logger. I used a Nick Bonniere logger
for a few years.

If the number of satellites is <=3 would not the NMEA output be blank in the
altitude position so causing this ?

Try not to save the track into memory before downloading it.
Instead, download it as an active log. The known issue with some garmins.
