The benefits package includes BBQ's, Beer, "naturally gifted" glider
assembly/washing assistants, to name a few.

Hmm, you want cooperation between glider pilots? Herded any cats
lately?
A few years ago, I added RESCO as an OLC team. I think 4 or 6 of us
flew a season as RESCO members, a failed experiment. For those
international pilots, that somehow stands for "Region 12 Soaring
Council", the region in which all the clubs Mark mentioned reside.
How do international off-site hired guns attend the barbecues to get
the beer? Offer free round-trip airfare and I bet you'd grab some
pilots from Oceania and Africa!

What you said plus what Jim said, plus a non-schweizer ship to fly and
an attractive crew.

Personally I think that the idea of an OLC "team" being made up of
people from around the world is not what the OLC rules makers
intended. I can see a team being a subset of a club, an entire club,
flying from the same field, maybe a pilots from several clubs within a
medium sized geographic region, or MAYBE even from within a larger
region (I.E. PASCO, CLGC, etc).
However, I think the idea of recruiting a team from anything larger
(even if allowed by the rules) stinks.
Soaring contest flying isn't a money maker and thus has this WONDERFUL
atmosphere of friendship, sharing and fun. What you are doing here
defeats this ideal.
My $0.02.

Agreed!
How about:
"In order to contribute OLC points to your club, at least 60% (more?)
of the flights must originate from (within ?? km of) the club's home
field."

I also understand the humor in this thread, but would prefer it never
became a reality :)

Having made an ass out of myself earlier today for not seeing the
"humor" in another thread, here I go again...
I really hope whomever posted this thread was making a joke. If not,
I would have to say I would be embarassed to be affiliated with
whoever posted it.
I wonder why they did not see fit to let their true identity be
known. I really hope it is someone posing as a Warner pilot, and not
truly one of our own.
I for one, would be the first to concede that if that happened, any
future "wins" would mean nothing at all.
I think I'll just go back to flying as fast and far as I can, and not
give a rats about any other statistics other than my own.
I wonder if the 126 Association will let me join them, even though I
fly a DG-800S.
I must be an ego maniac. Every sentance in my post has the word "I"
in it....

More support for my thesis regarding the collecitve (lack of) sense of
humor inherent in glassdrivers!
For you analytical types: When someone is inviting "Hooligans,
Neanderthals, Knuckle Draggers, Dirt
Bags, Soldiers of Fortune, and Lurkers (not you Lennie)" the offer
can be construed as a JOKE.
If they want KS, the P7 Unit, and JP, then they are probably serious.
Where is PEZ when you need him? No wonder he quit soaring and bought
a 195.
Sheesh

OLC Slut T-shirts are available at Warner Springs. (At least they
were.)
No need for a logger. A GPS file works fine for scoring club points.
I can't be the OLC champion with my Garmin, but it's my (lack of)
skills that really stop me.

Hi yall, Ideas should flow. Comments also. Good for the whole thing.
Wanna know about my super thermal generating invention?
How about an accelerated (Catapult) aided launch?
Ask me about the temperature difference inside a 2700 fpm thermal.
Open up the idea faucet. Fred
