Danish Soaring Society DSvU discussion forum closed!

Dear RAS'ers: This is a warning.



Lately, there has been a bitter personal feud between a small handful of
persons in the management of the Danish Soaring Society (DSvU), and a few
fellow pilots. It seems that no one is able to explain exactly what they are
arguing about, but this has not prevented a very heated debate -kindergarten
level- on the DSvU homepage forum.



DSvU management has now closed the discussion forum, which has offended a
large number of people. This is where RAS may come into the picture. I could
imagine that frustrated participants in the debate will now start to use
RAS. Some posts may be in Danish, so the following vocabulary extract from
Danish 101 may be useful:



"Idiot" Idiot

"Fornærme" Offend, insult

"Gå af" Retire

"Dum" Stupid

"Du er" You are. Commonly used in conjunction with "Dum" and
"Idiot"



So, RAS'ers, if this happens please bear with us. It will hopefully only be
temporary.

I met a bunch of Danes in the early Spring last year and they were so
nice and reserved.

Your sorrowful post brought several thoughts to mind...

1) Condolences for the fact your national society contains humanity with
all its warts and flaws.

2) Appreciation for the warning.

3) Real gratitude for expanding my international grasp of conversational
language!
