In looking at the 406 ELTs, it does not appear that they have the
capability that a PLB does to receive GPS position after activation in
order to directly transmit location in the event of a crash.

Does anyone know if any ELTs with this feature are on the horizon?

So far I only know of two G-force activated 406MHz ELT's suitable for gliders
(size + cost)

Kannad 406 AF-Compact with GPS interface option

Artex ME 406 Series

If you know others please let us know.

What I’m missing on all ELT’s is a delayed activation of the transmitter with a
sound warning during the delay time to avoid fault alarms by accidental
activation.
