If only there was some secret government agency that could find him and
warn him off using subtle clues in the media and conversations around him.

You can. You can ignore it. Also, you can install and use a Usenet
newsreader that ignores it for you.

This being Usenet, there's no person or agency in charge of content.
The Internet interprets censorship as damage and routes around it.

Thanks, Bob K.

Siince Earthlink sold the news groups out to Supernews I haven't seen
ANY of that mess. Nor the sporge that hit RCM.

It took me about 5 seconds to delete all his threads from my computer. I'd
set up spam filters, but he varies the title and e-mail account which makes
filtering more difficult.

If you are using O.E. just take a few seconds to click on ignore (two
clicks on the eyeglass column) Then make sure that the ignore/read
option is in the views box at the upper left just below the tool bar.
This has an advantage over message rules as it also ignores anyone
responding to the poor idiot.

Annoying, ain't he?

If you're using a newsreader that supports filtering on regular
expressions, you can kill all his frothing.

He's (currently, anyway) starting all his subject lines with
M<something>I<something>5<whatever>, for example.

With MT-NewsWatcher, I set up a filter that cleans out all of his posts:

Kill if 'subject' matches the regular expression "^M.I.5"

where ^ indicates the beginning of the line, and "." represents any
single character. As soon as he starts putting more than one character
between M and I and 5 it'll break (but a minor change to the filter can
fix that).

Other newsreaders will do things differently, and will probably have
slightly different regular expression syntaxes, but it's a hint.

What kinda cracks you up is that if he took the same amount of time
it takes to do this and got a job, he could afford to move out of his
parents basement.

He didn't take any time to do this, the whole thing is an automated
process that wouldn't take more than a few seconds. Just another
moron who gets his kicks from being a screwup.
