Why so cynical? You were found out; leave it at that.
Save yourself a lot of work and leave the copyright messages in the
pictures.

It is the removal of copyright and posting in YENC that has helped push
this group to the brink of being lost. No one is being a A$&^%*hole by
calling you on removing copyright. They are just pointing out that you
should not do it. As a photographer I get very upset when my work is
reposted even with the copyright intact. It is MY WORK and until 50
years past my death it will remain so. It is not cheap to make those
trips to get the photos. It is a lot of work so if you can not respect
that......

Are you making money from the photos? If so why did you post the here
in the first place? You've probably broken the rules fo the place you
sold them to.

If you're not making money from them, then why are you moaning?

If you can't read my e-mail address there is something wrong with your
eyesight.

And name-calling when you're found out is a sign of weakness. Keep your
manners.

It's not a matter of money but of principle and manners.
Copyright is copyright.

Removing copyright messages is simply not cricket.

Spend 10 000 or so on gear then call me a capitalist for wanting people
to respect my rights.

Pack your bags and move to Cuba where you can share all you want.

>

Not a huge profit but enough that I can still travel and take the
photos/replace broken gear and eat a bit.

If so why did you post the here
> in the first place?

So others can see and enjoy my photos without having to hunt them out on
my site. However most people have enough respect not to remove my
copyright mark

It is a matter of respect. Of which you have none.

You've probably broken the rules fo the place you

What rules I own my photos I can sell to whom I want for what I want.

I dont want to make a million though it would be nice I just want to be
able to afford to continue taking photos that is not moaning.

Though for now I am done posting photos here.

Thanks to all I have met and to those I have made friends with you know
where my site is Maple Flag will be in May/ June so drop in and see the
photos and say hello from there.

A DC-10 had come in a little hot and thus had an exceedingly long roll out after touching down.
San Jose Tower Noted: "American 751, make a hard right turn at the end of the runway, if you are able.
If you are not able, take the Guadalupe exit off Highway 101, make a right at the lights, and return to the airport."

Why are there more white people killed in avalanches than blacks?
The blacks are easier to find in the snow.

That would leave me without that item. Making a copy of something
doesn't remove it from your possession.

That's agiven with posted images - there is at least one copy created on
every computer it passes through or ends up on. The problem folks are
having here is the possible removal of copyright info and subsequent
reposting. Troy24 very well may have reposted them exactly as he found
them, but it does appear somebody had removed copyright info beforehand.

It really is a pride thing for a lot of us photographers; as Maple1
already said, it takes a lot of money to get the equipment and many years
of practice to get as good as some of the posters of original images here
are. Try taking credit for that music CD you copied and see how nicely
the original artists treat you...

Or is just okay to enrich oneself by taking from others, but not okay to
earn it?

which is your right, as it is the right of all original artists to copyright
their w*rk or not. once copyrighted, it's not your place to decide whether or
not said copyright is justified, but whether or not you're going to break the
law.

Name calling is not the only way to be impolite.

In the same way that swearing does not necessarily mean you are
insulting somone:

"**** you" is no worse than "you are an incompetant fool".

The latest ploy to drive the insurgents out of Iraq is to send in a team of Louisiana Special Forces.
Billy Bob, Bubba, Boo, Scooter, and Cooter are being sent in with the following information:
1. The limit is two.
2. The season ended last weekend.
3. They taste just like chicken.
4. They don't like beer, pickup trucks, or country music
5. Some are queer.
That should just about do it, don't you think?

So what's a "dogigie house"?

The tired doctor was awakened by a phone call in the middle of the night. "Please, you have to come right over," pleaded the distraught young mother. "My child has swallowed a contraceptive."
The physician dressed quickly, but before he could get out the door, the phone rang again.
"You don't have to come over after all," the woman said with a sigh of relief. "My husband just found another one."

So far only Troy24 has resorted to name calling and you seem to be on the
verge of starting .

This whole nonsense started because some people noticed thad Troy was
reposting pictures (nothing wrong with that) but did not credit the original
posters and/or removed copyright notices (everything wrong with that).
When this was pointed out to him he went ballistic and started throwing
abuse about.
Everybody was wrong except he. Pretty childish reaction. A grownup would
have owned up and left it at that.

Herman

No insult intended if you're not American.
I got the impression you are, but congratulations if you are not. What
country are you from, if I may ask?

Simple.
Like I wrote in my last post: own up and go on with his life.
Nothing wrong with reposting pictures, but just credit the original source.
An example of this is regular poster Centerplace.
If you post a picture everybody assumes you took it (see the first reactions
on a number of his posts) or that you unearthed them somewhere.

And above all: count to 10 before replying, think twice and don't throw
abuse about.

Pedant.

Assumptions are not the fault of the poster.

Some tourists in the Chicago Museum of Natural History are marveling at the dinosaur bones. One of them asks the guard, "Can you tell me how old the dinosaur bones are?"
The guard replies, "They are 3 million, four years, and six months old."
"That's an awfully exact number," says the tourist. "How do you know their age so precisely?"
The guard answers, "Well, the dinosaur bones were three million years old when I started working here, and that was four and a half years ago."

Google
