This is a Piper PA-25 Pawnee. First built in 1956.

You're probably correct Graeme, the image in the link was only intended as

Pawnee with cut off wing tips and end plates installed. BTW, the Brave
has a squared off vertical fin and rudder. We have flown a two seat
Pawnee trainer as well as many hours in the single seat one. Some with
the Hutcherson wing conversion.
