Close ?
The McMinnville musuem is expanding once again.
They have a third building under construction and two weeks ago when I
was past there it appeared more airframes on outdoor display....

Other sites to see in NE Oregon are the PT boat berthed at the Naval
Reserve Center Portland and the Oregon Military Musuem out in Clackamas

I am just as guilty, we drive past on trips to the coast but have yet to
stop and visit.

Museum in Astoria -

It's been years since I visited that one, an excelent choice.
And if you are in that area head out to Ft Stevens and see the Endicott
era coast defense emplacements.
They are building a replica of one of the guns.

I'll be down that way this next week TDY and will try to swing over and
get some pictures.
