UNSCOM inspection team head...in the 1990s, he was probably one of the
leading voices proclaiming that Iraq was actively obstructing his team
(had him at gunpoint more than once, I think), and that they had
serious suspicions that there were multiple WMD efforts going on in
Iraq. Sometime after GWB took office, and I'm pretty sure it's
post-9/11, Ritter changed his tune so fast and so drastically that I'm
convinced that someone or something changed it for him. Maybe a threat
to himself or his family, maybe a bribe, who knows, but whatever it
was, it worked. And it's all for the reading on Lexis/Nexis if you
want to chase it down.
