Hate to nit-pick (not the posting, incidentally, just the sign itself) ...
but you'd think "they" would have checked for typographical errors before
putting the sign on public display.

First line (not shouting): " ... UNITED STATES ARMY AIR COPRS AT WRIGHT
FIELD ... "

Eighth line: " ... OVER 2,000 AT-6'S WERE IN ASERVICE WITH THE ARMY AIR
COPRS AFTER WWII."

The word is spelled correctly in the 11th line: " ... THE AIRCRAFT WAS A
PRIMARY TRAINER FOR ARMY AIR CORPS AND USAF PILOTS ... "

Last line, main body of text: " .. REAR-MOUNTED 0.30-INCH REAR-MOUNTED
MACHINE GUNE ON A 360-DEGREE SWIVEL."

(And I'll let the use of "ALUMINUM" go through, as being a local
derivative of the correct spelling <grin> )

That's a really short gun.

if you're going to be pedantic, the least you could do is note that it's
"Inglewood", California.....

redc1c4,
who didn't get any farther in checking the checker. %-)

And don'tcha just hate it when you're correcting someone else's spelling
and you add your own error?
("ASERVICE" ?)

Yeah, well, I'll plead ignorance to most things in the U.S. - especially
geographical - being from the Land Down Under and all that.

Anyway, as this is not on charter, and is going OT rather rapidly, I might
just let the topic drop.

It's a gune. Far more advanced than a gun. Think the power of a sand
dune at bullet speed.
