View Full Version : IFR question,

William Hung[_2_]

OK, I have an IMC, IFR question, eventhough I've just begun to solo
working towards my PPL.

Let say your your CFI throws you the key and saids, "Go ahead, have at
it! Your first XC solo..." What if I get caught in an IMC without
warning, you know one of those totally unexpected sudden weather
phenominons (sp). I find myself lost in the clouds not knowing which
way is up. My question is, do I hit 'refresh (F5) button or do I hit
Ctrl-Alt-Delete?

There really isn't any kind of weather like that. not really. If the temp
dewpoint spread is adequate, you're not going to have fog. Clouds aren't as
fast as your airplane and neither are CBs....

Press the 'Alt' key, then go to 'World' and 'Weather'. Select 'Fine Day' as
the prevailing conditions.

Worked for me when I got lost on the way back from Wellesbourne to Brize the
other week.

God no. If you're really worried, just his 'ESC' to pause everything while
you work out what to do.

I'm *so* glad our school Warriors are fitted with an Escape key.

Remember the flow check list?

It's alt ctrl delete, not ctrl alt delete :-)))) Go alphabetically.

F5 temporarily blinds you between screen refreshes on F5 making you
disabled in IMC conditions, not recommended.

I know F5 temporarily blinds you, but you get a refreshed screen to
work with though.

Which keys to lower the flaps again? I don't don't even know which
key or keys flip flops the bird's eye view and the interior view.
